Nintendo SNES Classic Mini announced and sells out fast

Nintendo have announced the sequel to their NES classic Mini, the Nintendo Classic Mini: Super Nintendo Entertainment System and, as expected, pre-orders sold out within hours of going live.

Online stores like Shopto, GAME and Amazon have now sold out of pre-orders but you can still pre-order the console for its day 1 release at GAME’s physical stores, though be prepared for a hefty £50 deposit.

The Nintendo Classic Mini: Super Nintendo Entertainment System contains 21 classic games and can easily be plugged into any high-definition TV using the included HDMI cable.

The big news is the release of Star Fox 2. For the first time, players who pick up the system can enjoy the intergalactic adventure Star Fox 2, the sequel to the original Star Fox (originally titled Starwing upon release in Europe) game that was created during the Super NES era but never released.  That’s on top of the SNES being one of the most loved and well remembered consoles of all time.

The Nintendo Classic Mini: Super Nintendo Entertainment System has the same look and feel of the original system but in a smaller shell.  It comes with 2 controllers though Europe will lack the USB power supply.  The retail price is $80/£79.99/ AU$ 119.95.

The games on offer vary by territory, with Japan getting a different set of games, but the UK, Europe and USA SNES will include:
