Reggie Fils-Aime Retiring as Nintendo America President

President of Nintendo America Reggie Fils-Aime is hanging up his badge in April and retiring from the post.

His successor is none other than Bowser, Doug Bowser that is.  Bowser is currently Nintendo’s head of sales in the US and has been working alongside Reggie for the last 4 years, so is pretty much prepared for the role.  It’s unclear whether he will still continue kidnapping Princess Peach and making life difficult for Mario, though.

Reggie Fils-Aime has seen a lot in his time at Nintendo, including his time as President for the last 3 years, including his notorious first E3 2004 appearance, which cemented him as the ‘fun face of Nintendo’ and his subsequent Wii Fit Balance Board reveal where he first uttered the line “My body is ready.”, which has since become his catch-phrase.

A life-long gaming fan, his passion for Nintendo has always shone through and made him a favourite with Nintendo fans.  His love for gaming in general has helped see a closer union between the rival console manufacturers, joining with Shawn Layden of Playstation and Phil Spencer of Xbox at this year’s The Game Awards to show a united front and represent the unified gaming community.
