It’s fair to say that 18 years is a fairly long wait but that’s how long it’s been since Shenmue II first released. The original games redefined the landscape of gaming, introducing Quicktime events and a fully realised open world to Dreamcast owners. The story was originally designed to take place over a series of games so fans have waited a long time to continue Ryo’s search for the man who killed his father.
The game launches on Playstation 4 and PC (Via the Epic Game Store) today.
In a recent video, CEO of YS Net and Creator of the series Yu Suzuki shared his thoughts just hours prior to the release –
“Thank you so much for your enduring support these 18 years since Shenmue II… I hope from the bottom of my heart that Shenmue III becomes special for you, truly I thank you!”
