Despite a luke-warm reaction from the press, EA’s latest Battlefield game has gone straight in at number 1 in the sales charts.
The new game replaces the war theme with cops and robbers, the first time that the series has had such a major change, and seems to have done pretty well in its first week, despite press and beta testers giving it a less than stellar review.
It’s done so well, in fact, that the game has now sold more at launch than any other title so far this year, making it officially the biggest launch of the year according to the Gfk Chart-Track Top 40.
Meanwhile, Final Fantasy Type-0 HD sits at number 2 and the other new release, Mario Party 10, is at number 6 in the chart.
