Wii U owners won’t be able to use the BBC iPlayer app from today on Nintendo’s console.
According to Nintendo this is “due to an end in the license agreement” which possibly means that they’ve re-licenced iPlayer for Switch, although it could just mean no more iPlayer on a Nintendo console, we’ll have to wait and see nearer to the 3rd March launch of the new console.
If this points to Switch getting streaming video support, including the possibility of services like Netflix and Amazon, it could end up making the portable Switch an even better proposition.
