It had to happen and many guessed it would. Â Disney owns Star Wars and Marvel and their last Infinity set was Marvel, so it was only a matter of time before they moved on to that other huge franchise.
Disney Infinity 3.0 has now been officially announced and the first packs to hit shops will be a Star Wars play set based on the Clone Wars cartoon (if I have to play as Anakin, this is the best choice), with sets based on the original trilogy and new movie to come.
The best news for those who already bought the previous games is that this new set is fully compatible with the portal and Disney are releasing a software only and software plus figures version to cut costs.
The Disney Infinity 3.0 Starter Pack includes:
- Disney Infinity 3.0 Video Game Software
- Disney Infinity Base
- 2 Star Warsâ„¢ Figures: Ahsoka Tano, Anakin Skywalker
- 1 Star Warsâ„¢ Twilight of the Republic Play set Piece
- Unique Web Code to unlock Disney Infinity 2.0 online content
The 3.0 Video Game Software Disc with Twilight of the Republic Play set Bundle contains all the above without the Base.
We are expecting more news on the sets soon and expect them to hit stores nearer to the end of the year on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Wii U, Xbox One and Xbox 360
