While it’s rumoured that Zelda: Breath of the Wild will be missing from the Switch’s launch line-up, it looks like Mario will have a new adventure ready, alongside Skyrim and Splatoon.
According to the site letsplayvideogames.com, Nintendo’s new handheld/home console hybrid will be sporting Splatoon in special packs, while a brand new Mario platform game, potentially similar to the classic Mario 64, will be available at launch.
Bethesda haven’t confirmed or denied that Skyrim Remastered will be available for the launch, though it featured in the console’s reveal trailer (as did Mario), but ‘several sources‘ have since confirmed both this and Mario as potential release titles.
A new version of Mario Kart 8, which first appeared on Wii U, could also be a launch title, making it an impressive 2 games for Mario when the system hits the shops.
This news comes alongside another nugget from EA CFO Blake Jorgensen, who announced that “we’ll be supporting with a game or two on that new platform. We haven’t yet announced what game, but you should assume that it’s one of our bigger games we’ve been involved with.”
Let’s hope Nintendo surprise us all with one of the best software launch line-ups this generation.
