After teasing us since the initial reveal, Sony have finally revealed the full lineup of games that will be making their way to the Playstation Classic when it arrives later this year. And there are definitely some cracking games among them, as well as some slightly left-field choices.
The full list is:
- Battle Arena Toshinden
- Cool Boarders 2
- Destruction Derby
- Final Fantasy VII
- Grand Theft Auto
- Intelligent Qube
- Jumping Flash!
- Metal Gear Solid
- Mr Driller
- Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee
- R4 – Ridge Racer Type 4
- Rayman
- Resident Evil: Director’s Cut
- Revelations: Persona
- Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo
- Syphon Filter
- Tekken 3
- Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six
- Twisted Metal
- Wild Arms
So that’s a selection of absolutely classic games (MGS, Final Fantasy VII, GTA, Oddworld, Resident Evil etc..) headlining this mini console, but I am a little confused by some inclusions – is there a dedicated fanbase who were absolutely dying for Jumping Flash, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six or Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo to be a part of this? Maybe there is, and I just don’t know about it, but some of these games do seem to be filler…
But Sony don’t care about my opinion – they just want this to sell, and let’s be honest, with that lineup, it will definitely do that. Hell, I’ll probably buy one because the good games definitely outnumber the questionable in my opinion.
Shame there’s no Parapa the Rapper or VibRibbon though…..
