Despite being an arcade classic from yesteryear, the Dragon’s Lair games and their follow up, Space Ace, still look great and stand up well today.
So it’s great to hear that they’re coming to Switch this week in a compilation which sees all three games hit Nintendo’s eShop.
The games, drawn by the famous cartoon artist and animator Don Bluth (responsible for such animated hits as The Land Before Time and An American Tail), saw one of the first uses of the quick decision making feature to move the story on, later seen in what we now call ‘Quicktime events’ which still feature in games today such as the recent Spider-man on PS4. They’re infamous for the split-second decisions and their take-no-prisoner approach needed to survive through to the end of the game.
