Phil Spencer announced the long rumoured Project Scorpio console at E3 today.
In addition to the Xbox One S, the Scorpio will be compatible with the same games and accessories as the Xbox One, but will potentially be able to do 4K gaming.
“The next step change for gamers and developers must deliver true 4K gaming and high fidelity VR.” explained Phil during the Xbox E3 Press Conference.
The console will have an 8 Core CPU, 6terraflops of GPU power and over 320Gbps memory bandwidth.  If the specs are correct, the graphics would be similar to a GTX 1080, with 8tf and the same memory bandwidth.  The Nvidia card retails at over £600, so does this give us an indication of the console’s cost?  Will we see the first £1000 games console?
More will be revealed nearer to launch, which is currently set at Winter 2017.
