Xenoblade Chronicles 3D is one of the most eagerly awaited 3DS games of the year and an exclusive to New 3DS but Nintendo have stated that you will need to buy a bigger SD card if you want to download it.
“The download version of Xenoblade Chronicles 3D does not fit on the microSD card included with New Nintendo 3DS and New Nintendo 3DS XL systems. An 8GB or larger microSD card is required to download this game from Nintendo eShop.” States the warning on the official Nintendo site for the game.
What makes this a little more difficult is the fact that you’ll need to unscrew the base of the console to get at the Micro SD card within and then transfer or re-download any existing content.
Those who moved their existing cards over when they moved from 3DS to New 3DS and have 8GB or so free shouldn’t need to worry, nor should those buying the physical copy, but if this is a sign of things to come for New 3DS games then those with 16GB or less cards in their New 3DS should start to think about upgrading now.
