Team17 and Playtonic Games, the UK studio formed by veterans of the platforming genre, have announced the release of Yooka-Laylee for Nintendo Switch.
The platform adventure which harks back to the days of classics like Banjo Kazooie, has been out on other platforms for a while but Nintendo’s hybrid handheld has provided its own set of unique issues. Thankfully, the game is looking great on the platform and will benefit from being playable on the move.
In Yooka-Laylee you can now explore, collect Pagies and defeat the evil Capital B as well as playing 8 multiplayer mini games using the Joycons included with the Switch.
Yooka-Laylee on Nintendo Switch includes several improvements and many fan-requested features. “We spent many months adding significant optimisations and dozens of game updates to ensure the Nintendo Switch version of Yooka-Laylee really is the bee’s knees.” said Gavin Price, Studio Director at Playtonic Games. “There’s single Joy-Con™ support across our eight multiplayer games, and a huge list of changes; including brand new camera mode, control improvements, and menu options. There’s a lot!”
You can grab Yooka-Laylee right now on the Nintendo eShop.
