Apple have announced a new, bigger iPad and another addition to the iPad Mini range in their latest Keynote speech.
Touted as “The biggest news in iPad since the iPad” the iPad Pro is much larger but with the same thin look as the iPad Air. Â It’s designed for artists, gamers and those who want to work on their tablet with a larger space.
The display is 12.9 inches, the biggest so far and it’s a pretty hefty screen size, too.
It comes with a new 3rd generation 64bit A9X CPU that’s said to be 1.8 times faster than the previous chip and the new iPad also benefits from twice as fast read/write performance to the flash memory.
The GPU also has twice the performance of the iPad Air 2, making games that much more impressive. Â Add in the 4 speakers which adjust to how you hold the device and 3 times the power of the iPad Air 2’s speaker system and you have a great media device.
Alongside the tablet there’s a smart keyboard which uses the new smart adaptor on the iPad Pro and allows the tablet to automatically switch to phsyical keyboard mode.
Almost as a footnote, the iPad Mini 4 was also announced. Â It’s basically the same as the ipad Air 2 inside, but in an iPad Mini shell with the touch sensor from the current iPads.
