EA looking into opportunities to develop for Nintendo NX.

EA’s CEO has stated that the company is keen to rekindle partnership with Nintendo for its next console, codenamed NX.

An article in trade paper MCV suggests that EA are now ready to look at bringing their games back to Nintendo for their new console launching next year.

“As we look to the future, we see a world where more people are playing on more platforms in more geographies than ever before,” explained EA’s CEO Andrew Wilson

“As it relates to Nintendo, we’ve had a tremendous relationship with them over the years. And we will evaluate any and all opportunities with them in the same way we do all platform opportunities.”

NX development kits are being distributed right now to some developers, ensuring that game titles are ready for launch.  Part of the issue with the Wii U launch was a lack of big name games in the first week, so Nintendo will be keen to avoid this mistake in future.  Having EA back on side would do a lot to help the company prove their next console will be a hit.
