Minecraft Realms announced for tablets and PC cross play

At the Xbox E3 conference, Mojang announced that Minecraft would get an update today which allows cross play between iOS, Android and PC, along with Minecraft Realms, the ability to share game worlds, even while offline.

Using an Xbox Live login and the friends list, you can invite friends to parties and worlds and play together.  Your friends can then stay in the world even when you leave, creating an always-on universe within Minecraft.

Realms has a 30 day free trial for tablets and then a monthly fee for anyone hosting a world.  It’s free for anyone else visiting.

The update is out today and you can check out more via the video below.
