Multi-format Titanfall 2 will have single player

According to an interview with Forbes Magazine on Friday, Lead writer Jesse Stern and his team are working on the multi-format sequel to EA’s Titanfall.

The game promises to have both single-player and multiplayer, the former being missed from the first game because the team at Respawn “did not have the resources to do both multi-player and single-player versions.”

The sales of Titanfall have convinced EA to get Respawn working on the sequel for multiple formats with the single-player story that Jesse Stern wanted to write for the first game and a tie-in animated series to go with it.

Stern’s vision is for a story that involves “retelling the story of the American Revolution and the American Civil War in space.” and will try to make the technology as believable as possible (though, obviously, with giant mechs!).

The game is slated for a 2017 release, so it’s still a way off despite Respawn having spent a year on it already.
