Pre-orders go live today for Nvidia’s behemoth RTX 3090 card

If you’re waiting for Nvidia’s massively powered top-of-the-range RTX 3090 then today is the day.

The official time for pre-orders to go live is 2pm BST in the UK but expect that to change as different retailers get stock allocation and either go early or wait it out until things have calmed down. After last week’s RTX 3080 fiasco, where demand greatly outstripped supply, leading to websites going down and many disgruntled customers who couldn’t get a card, it’s most likely that the much more expensive 3090 will be a slower paced affair.

We recommend Overclockers.co.uk if you’re buying in the UK, as they tend to have the most stock for Nvidia cards and we’ve found them to be very reliable for any PC parts in the past.

Nvidia’s RTX 3090 is an impressively powerful graphics card aimed at the enthusiast market and prices range from £1399.99 for the Founders Edition to the eye watering Asus ROG Strix RTX 3090 OC Edition at £1649.99.

The cards feature 10496 Cuda Cores, 24GB GDDR6X VRAM and a 384-bit memory bus, weighing in at an impressive 36 TFLOPs of throughput. They replace the previous fastest card on the market, the Titan RTX.
