Xbox One becomes backward compatible

Microsoft have announced at E3 that the Xbox One will be able to play over 100 Xbox 360 games with more to come this holiday.

Disc based games won’t play directly from the disc but will, instead. allow the game to be ‘unlocked’ to use on Xbox One when placed in the drive for the first time.

Digital games will start appearing automatically in your library if you already own them.

The Xbox One social features like Game DVR will also be compatible with Xbox 360 games and the games themselves will support Cloud Saves and Gamerscore between consoles.

Xbox Preview Members can get started right now and everyone else can look forward to playing their Xbox 360 library by the end of the year.
