Microsoft have announced a very special limited launch edition of the Xbox One X with Project Scorpio labelling and a retro-style Xbox box.
The reveal came at the end of the Xbox Gamescom Press Conference, where Major Nelson also held an unboxing for the Scorpio Edition console.
Throughout Xbox One X’s early life it carried the name Project Scorpio and it’s fair to say that many fans loved the name so much they hoped Microsoft might throw tradition aside and keep the name. That wasn’t to be and the console was renamed Xbox One X, but in a tribute to these fans the first pre-orders for the console will still bear the name Project Scorpio on the controller and console.
Pre-orders are still available from many sites, including Amazon, with the console selling at £449.99.
