Assassin’s Creed: Unity patch removes smartphone companion app requirement

Ubisoft have released a patch for Assassin’s Creed Unity on console and PC which removes the need for the app to unlock items in the game.

It also unlocks the items which previously required logging in to the site which tracks progress over the games in the series.

The patch opens up the chests dotted around the map which hide weapon upgrades and new suits, including costumes from past Assassin’s and elements from the history of the game.

There are a few more bug fixes in the update as well, further bolstering the game after earlier patches fixed potentially game breaking bugs at launch.
