Nintendo have another hit on their hands after Animal Crossing New Horizons blitzed the competition to sell many more copies than any other game this week and more than any single game release on Switch at launch.
The only game to sell more than New Horizons on Switch is Pokemon Sword and Shield, but only when you count both games as a single release, otherwise the latest Animal Crossing is the largest launch of any Switch title out there.
Animal Crossing New Horizons sends you off to a small isolated island with just 2 other travellers. From here you’ll build a community, clean up the area and meet lots of interesting visitors, some of whom will decide to stay there with you. It’s a slow paced escape from life and who can blame people for wanting that experience at a time like this?
